Hello Love

Chris Tomlin's new album Hello Love was released this week. After listening to it all the way through a few times, I really liked the differences between this and some of Tomlin's other offerings. Hello Love is a praise and worship album, no questions asked (and a great one at that), but it sounds like the pop/rock album Chris Tomlin always dreamed of making. Well, maybe he didn't dream about making a pop/rock album...

Some of the standout tracks include "Sing, Sing, Sing", "You Lifted Me Out", "God Of This City", and "With Me". Great album...buy it.

Labor Day

Rachel and I drove 3 hours or so down to Venice, FL, to visit my family for Labor Day. We had a great time eating, playing board games, and watching some show about crazy animals on Animal Planet. Making time to hang out with family is always worth the effort.

I'm really excited about this week at Church In The Son. I am going to make it a point to start blocking out time in my schedule each week to be creative musically, spend more time with God, try to do some writing, and read some books on worship. It will have a profound effect on my spiritual life and I know that I will be a better worship pastor because of it.

Early

I decided to get to the church an hour earlier than usual today. I'm writing a chart for "Save Me" (Gateway Worship)...Pastor wants to use it at the end of our services today.

I haven't been up before dawn in a long time...

Hillsong's New Album

In August, Hillsong will release it's newest live worship project in the United States. I had the privilege of receiving a pre-release copy of the new album, This Is Our God, a couple of weeks ago. It's really great, maybe even my favorite Hillsong offering so far. Standout tracks include "Stronger", "You'll Come", "He Is Lord", "Desert Song", "Healer", and the title track "This Is Our God". We've already started using "Stronger" and "He Is Lord" in our worship services at Church In The Son. I highly recommend purchasing this album when it is released.
